Bonsoir JC – Thank you and Julie for your question – I’m afraid l don’t know what it was used for but my best guess, because it is only 30 odd yards from the river’s edge’ is a flood warning look-out post. The river floods regularly along this spot so it could’ve been for that. In any event l will pop into the village Mayor’s office and enquire – Watch this space.
