It has been raining for the best part of a week without any let up – Our village, Castets en Dorthe, is where the magnificent Canal Lateral starts and sits alongside the powerful river Garonne. These pictures are of the first lock where they join and today, as you can see, the river and the canal have merged. There is more rain on the way and it’s possible the floods could be as bad as they were a few years ago – Let’s hope not. I have included a picture for comparison.
The colours in Brittany are not the same either. I miss deep blues and yellows and pinks. Let’s hope for the best…

Stay safe. Some rain is good but too much isn’t. We travelled through your beautiful part of the world almost 5 years ago. (We have friends near Toulouse.) Hopefully we’ll be back next year. In the meantime I have your beautiful photos to help me reminisce.

Wow. Good luck. I’m a couple of hours north of you, if you need a place to stay.
