For the past few years this little owl has frequented our garden on most summer evenings and less frequently in Autumn and Spring. It has become increasingly friendly and perches nearer and nearer to the house. Although always on the look-out for tasty morsels in the adjacent field or our garden she always takes time to chat with Madame Redstuff who, not normally a lover of animals, has become very fond of our feathered friend.

A lovely visitor indeed. There is an night owl frequently in a tree close by to my deck–never seen but frequently vocal, with a loud Hu Hu Hu Hu I love it. There’s also a doe who comes around a lot and seems to know me. I named her Elizabeth,, the name just came to me . . haha
