Oh, thank you for that information, Dan. It’s rather like the handle the sugar cane where I live. Not quite as exciting as making wine, but one of the by-products of sugar cane refining is rum!
That’s part of a weighbridge at the winery in Cocumont. As the harvest comes in from the thousands of hectares in the surrounding vineyards a note is made of weight, type of grape and from whose domaine. All done by the controller sitting in this unique little structure. The winery is part of the ‘Cave Marmandaises’.
