These photographs are my reward for listening to Madame redstuffdan, who suggested, this afternoon, that we drive out to the village of Gontaud de Nogaret which she remembered being “interesting” from her childhood 60 years ago. I think we would all agree, interesting is an understatement.

What fantastic architecture…the clock and the detail on the covered market are marvellous. And love the café doors- presumably that hasn’t seen business for a long time. Is Gontaud a bastide? I really have to get down to your neck of the. Woods!!
