Had to go into Bordeaux today – it was very busy with traffic jams everywhere. It was such a beautiful day we decided to take the country route home along the north bank of the Garonne through the vines via Langoiran and Cadillac. The vendange has just started which means the main harvest in the vineyards will start very soon. Couldn’t miss the chance of taking a few pictures along the way and picking up an excellent bottle of the local redstuff at Portets – Delicious.

Bonjour Rachel
I’m so glad you like it and no l don’t sell my pictures as nobody, save your good self, seem interested enough to fork out their hard earned. However, l have had prints enlarged and printed up for family and fiends (sorry that should read friends) some of which look pretty good, even if l say so myself.
Regards
Dan
PS – Love your pictures you have a great talent.

Bonjour Dee
Thank you for your kind comments – this post was the most popular by far last year, l think it must have something to do with the wine!
Like most places the vineyards lose their attraction in the rather dismal rainy heart of winter but are soon displaying their beauty as spring arrives. My favourite time is autumn, just after the harvest – the colours are breathtaking.
